Pet peeve....ok, I understand that women get a lot of emails and you can't always respond to them... but when you do, I generally find that if they're declines, they tend to be very pleasant with a simple not interested but thanks or something along those lines....
Except for yesterday, I got one that was just downright rude and mean. I simple "not interested" would have been sufficient, but this person seemed to be pretty angry.
Thoughts?

Our society today is pretty raw and right out in front. Is chivalry important in 2009? Has being a 'gentleman' (define for yourself) lost relevance when so much of the personal connection is gone?

I am married. (so's my wife). I have found that I connect the best with women on NoStrings who are also married.
So here's my question: Do married people tend to attract married and singles to singles?
and to you married women: do you prefer to be with a man single or married or it doesn't matter?

My closest friend is a very beautiful woman. While the attraction is certainly there, we've never even kissed for fear of ruining a really special friendship.

Hi all, good morning, I hope everyone had a great 4th of July celebration.
Being the deviant recreational sociologist I am, I have found myself somewhat taken aback by the increasing frequency with which the matter of male 'generosity' appears in profiles.
We're talking about more than giving small gifts, tokens of esteem (or lust).
Now, I am totally fine with civilization's second oldest profession, and completely respect and appreciate that these members are right up front about it. But, is A.F.F. the place?
I am not judging, condemning or condoning, it has just caught me by surprise. Granted, I am a bit naive, but that is another story.
I have come to make friends here, have some great conversation, read fantastic writings, and yes, had some truly wonderful (and wonder-filled) one-to-one experiences. Naturally, NoStrings is different for everyone.
What's your opinion?
