A Year’s Guide

The past year has sped by
Especially since July
The days were wet and dry
God watched from the sky

Now we must face a new year
After all the Christmas cheer
Too much wine, whisky and beer
Was that really a reindeer?

Some risks may be taken
We may face as we awaken
Our lives may be shaken
But we'll not be mistaken

We may face some roadblocks
Watch the value of our stocks
Recycling in the blue box
And still watching the clocks

So let’s stay well alert
Try to avoid causing hurt
In talking, be less curt
For ourselves we should assert

Share time with friends
That’s what God intends
Some rules we’ll bend
And make many amends

Jump over hurdles with care
Show caution and be fair
Don’t dawdle, prepare
Face challenges with flair

Remember to laugh
Commit one less gaffe
Have fun on your behalf
Love your other half

To cooperate we must
We’ll restore more trust
Change, remove some rust
For God will be just

New friends we should make
Make one less mistake
Early to bed, early awake
Be for real not a<b> fake

</font></b>Search out a new quest
Get plenty of rest
Life is but a test
As God will attest

Only God will decide
Where we will abide
Only he can provide
An angel to guide

May God bless us all
And help us stand tall

So that we won’t fall
