in a plastic world of paper video people

They were plastic people
made out of paper
not flesh or blood or<b> bone
</font></b>they were plastered on billboards
in TV commercials
fake people made out of video
they were there
to sell you
to the highest bidder
to please someone else
to make someone else
happy content
I rebelled
I counted
with an offensive
a battle line
I knew to fight back
in a plastic world
made of paper video people
they were in my newspaper
on my TV
even on my phone
the plastic people
who lived off
my flesh blood bones of others

I sometimes don't even know
what it means
when I write
I just write
what comes to me
into my mind
I write it down
decide maybe
try to share it
with others
sometimes
I wonder why
I write at all
in a plastic world
of paper video people
that was fake
that really
did not exist

I had a dream
I woke up in this dream
Way way into the future
I was myself
but I was a different person
I was very very powerful
No, not that kind of powerful
with money and privilege
I mean the power of my mind
I could create the world around me
The world would not affect me
in a negative way
I no longer felt pain or suffering
I could convince the world around me
that peace and love is the answer to life
Hate and violence
can only cause you pain suffering death
It can only affect your life
in a negative way
Then I woke up
and I found myself back
in this time and place
in a plastic world
of paper video people
