Brand New Book
Brand New Book I have always been a book worm my entire life. Of course, my favorite authors and series of novels constantly evolved over the years as I grew up. When I was five, I enjoyed The Bernstein Bears books and I had a huge collection of Little Golden Books. When I was eight, I started reading Roald Dahl, Beverly Cleary, and Judy Blume. At ten, I read all of The Chronicles of Narnia series and I had started reading the Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine. By the time I turned twelve, I was reading The Babysitter's Club, Sweet Valley High, and the Fear Street series of books. As I approached my teenaged years, my taste in reading material matured even more as I started reading pretty much anything written by Anne Rice or Stephen King. As an adult, I will read pretty much anything that looks good to me. I still have my favorites, such as James Patterson and Charlaine Harris and I still enjoy King and Rice. I have also read Twilight, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson all because of my kiddos. And I cannot forget that I did give in to the hype and I read the 50 Shades novels. Pretty much, if somebody suggests it or if my want to read it, I will check it out! Oh yeah, one more thing about my book worm status... I absolutely refuse to own an e-reader or tablet. Digital copies of books are unsatisfying to me. There's just something about hearing the spine of a book crackle the first time you open it and the smell of the pages in a hardback. Digital just isn't the same, nor will it ever be. I am perfectly willing to sacrifice a few trees for my reading pleasure. Are you in love with a particular author or series or have you read anything worthwhile recently? I am always looking to expand my library and would love it if you share your suggestions in the comments below! ***** I literally read hundreds of books growing up, but I certainly don't remember any of these titles! I must have missed them in my school's library. ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ------------ Which one of those was your favorite? ♡♡♡ |

I don't do digital books, and prefer an old paperback. 99% of the books I buy are from thrift shops. I like the discovery of finding a good book, and all for a $1. Thoughts from the Garden...

I'm like you Jess I still read and have a huge collection of Goosebumps, Stephen King, Christopher Pike, and I love reading Autobiographies of famous athletes. My favorite will always be the King. I have almost every copy of Stephen King's novels. I even own a few of the movies that were made even thought the movies are no where better then the books. I'm actually looking forward to see what the new It movie will be like when it comes out in September.

These are just ripping me apart with laughter. I love reading. I have a NookHD but it hasn't been used in about 4 years. I read a lot. Ia ma down sizing and have given away about 2000 books. I highly value the feel of a volume in my hand and being about to turn a printed paper page. Hope you try Clive Cussler and Ken Follett (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group
