Still you turn me on...

Every now and then i get nostalgic...

With my way of thinking... I treasure my moments of intimacy with the women that I have been with... I remember what they smelled like... tasted like... felt like... sounded like when they came... looked like up close and from a distance... like a meal in a fine restaurant... savoring every morsel... every drop of their essence or that steak or shrimp... the entire journey... that's what I was and am about... not the 3 minute mile... not the slam bam thank you ma 'am...

And, as you all know... I luv music... not all music... but, those sounds and lyrics that are pleasing to my senses...

Cindy was my first love... we were young... too young... and this song was playing our first time... and several "firsts" later... who knew that I would still be talking to her after 30 years... one never knows what the future will bring... and... yet... still she turns me on...

"Do you want to be an angel
Do you want to be a star
Do you want to play some magic on my guitar?
Do you want to be a poet
Do you want to be my string?
You could be anything
Do you want to be the lover of another undercover?
You could even be the man on the moon...
Still you turn me on..." -- Emerson, Lake & Palmer "Still you turn me on"

I luved this song... I luved her... if you go and read the lyrics... you will be amazed at how crazy his luv is... if it can be characterized as luv... I don't care... I still luv this song...

My dad got a job in Texas and we moved south 500 miles from Kansas City and Cindy... It couldn't last... Oh... I thought about moving back and living with relatives or her and her family... But, I did not...

A year later I met Theresa... What a beautiful... melonlicious woman... OMG... she was a heavenly creature that I'll never forget... so kind... so gentle... so loving... so beautiful... like a dream... only real...

"There might have been things I missed
But don't be unkind
It don't mean I'm blind
Perhaps there's a thing or two
I think of lying in bed
I shouldn't have said
But there it is
You see, it's all clear
You were meant to be here
From the beginning..." -- Emerson, Lake & Palmer "From the Beginning"

She was meant to be here with me... and I with her... but, college changed things... she went to Texas Tech... I went to North Texas... long distance relationships never have worked for me... Our relationship just ended... no crying, no sad love songs... just two ships going off in different directions... We had spent days together at the lake... going to the drive-in... just being... those were special moments... I cherished that time...

I have been blessed with a wonderful life... full of good, not so good, happy, sad, crying, laughing... all of it... I feel like I am a lucky man... and, I'll take it all...

So... I have told my loved ones that when I die... don't cry for me... be happy... because I am happy... They don't like to hear that... but, they won't have to wonder if I was happy... because, I've told them how I feel... My grandfather used to tell me as a young boy... "if you have to tell someone something, you better go ahead and do it, because the chance to do so may not always be there..." I've not forgotten that... to the point where some have asked me why I would say such a thing... and, then I tell them...

that's me...

"He had white horses and ladies by the score
All dressed in satin and waiting by the door
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
Ooh, what a lucky man he was..." - Emerson, Lake & Palmer "Lucky Man"

Greg Lake... you are missed...

What say you my little pretties...
