How do you feel about chatting here

I would like your feelings on what you think about chatting with someone on this site. I was of the impression that you would find someone that you were interested in and by chatting with them you would find out if you had interest in each other. Lately it seems to me that people are just not that interested in knowing me or they are not real and they are just skimming this site for thrills and have no intention of any real meeting

 I have always preferred to chat with someone here before deciding if we should meet or not. And by chat I mean, in the public rooms...such as the local room, the bbw room, etc. Seeing how someone interacts with others tells me a lot about them.
One thing that I really don't like is when a guy I've never chatted with before, in the room or otherwise, comes into the room and almost instantly asks me to go to IM to chat with him. Some ladies, that is what they prefer, but I think most ladies prefer to have some chatting in the room first. And that's because, usually (not always), when a guy asks you to go to IM, it's to start chatting sex right away. As you said, they are not interested in knowing who we are...they just want to talk sex with anyone who's willing. Again, that's not always the case. I use IM to ask a regular question of someone I am friends with in the room...a private question, not suitable to post in the public room.
So when you say 'chat', that can mean a lot of different things to different ppl.

Thanks for your reply. It helps me know what people like you are thinking and what pitfalls to avoid. I agree with your comments and the fact that you should keep conversations at different levels when you are in public and private areas

 I think chatting is a great tool to get to know someone here. It just seems that lately. I've have had a run of bad luck with some of my chats and I just hope it is not me.
