*** Rocking the past, or just Memories
*** Rocking the past, or just Memories I certainly was not much of a dancer, but we did things a bit different "back in the day". It almost seems like an aerobics class. Do you remember the music from 1972? Maybe that is unfair for our "younger" visitors. Do you have an era of music that is special to you? Maybe from your teenage years? Here are excerpts from a couple of hits from around 1972 that I remember oh so well The Doobie Brothers - Listen To The Music (1972)[/B] Don't you feel it growin', day by day People gettin' ready for the news Some are happy, some are sad Oh, we got to let the music play What the people need Is a way to make 'em smile It ain't so hard to do if you know how Gotta get a message Get it on through Oh, now mama's go'n' to after 'while Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music All the time Well I know, you know better Everything I say Meet me in the country for a day We'll be happy And we'll dance Oh, we're gonna dance our blues away And if I'm feelin' good to you And you're feelin' good to me There ain't nothin' we can't do or say Feelin' good, feeling fine Oh, baby, let the music play Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh Seals & Croft -Summer Breeze - (1972) See the curtains hangin' in the window In the evenin' on a Friday night Little light is shinin' through the window Lets me know everything's alright Summer breeze, makes me feel fine Blowing through the jasmine in my mind Summer breeze, makes me feel fine Blowing through the jasmine in my mind See the paper layin' on the sidewalk A little music from the house next door So I walked on up to the doorstep Through the screen and across the floor Summer breeze, makes me feel fine Blowing through the jasmine in my mind Summer breeze, makes me feel fine Blowing through the jasmine in my mind Sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom July is dressed up and playing her tune And I come home from a hard day's work And you're waiting there, not a care in the world |

[image] Elton John - Rocket Man (1972) She packed my bags last night pre flight Zero hour nine a.m. And I'm gonna be high, as a kite by then I miss the earth so much, I miss my wife It's lonely out in space On such a timeless flight And I think it's gonna be a long long time Till touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at home Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone And I think it's gonna be a long long time Till touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at home Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids In fact it's cold as Hell And there's no one there to raise them if you didn't

[image] [image] ALICE COOPER - School's Out (1972) Well we got no choice All the girls and boys Makin all that noise 'Cause they found new toys Well we can't salute ya Can't find a flag If that don't suit ya That's a drag School's out for summer School's out forever School's been blown to pieces No more pencils No more books No more teacher's dirty looks Well we got no class And we got no principles And we got no innocence We can't even think of a word that rhymes School's out for summer School's out forever School's been blown to pieces No more pencils No more books No more teacher's dirty looks Out for summer Out till fall We might not go back at all School's out forever School's out for summer School's out with fever School's out completely

[image] I heat up, I can't cool down You got me spinnin' 'Round and 'round 'Round and 'round and 'round it goes Where it stops nobody knows Every time you call my name I heat up like a burnin' flame Burnin' flame full of desire Kiss me baby, let the fire get higher Abra-abra-cadabra I want to reach out and grab ya Abra-abra-cadabra Abracadabra You make me hot, you make me sigh You make me laugh, you make me cry Keep me burnin' for your love With the touch of a velvet glove Abra-abra-cadabra I want to reach out and grab ya Abra-abra-cadabra Abracadabra I feel the magic in your caress I feel magic when I touch your dress Silk and satin, leather and lace Black panties with an angel's face I see magic in your eyes I hear the magic in your sighs Just when I think I'm gonna get away I hear those words that you always say Abra-abra-cadabra I want to reach out and grab ya Abra-abra-cadabra Abracadabra Every time you call my name I heat up like a burnin' flame Burnin' flame full of desire Kiss me baby, let the fire get higher I heat up, I can't cool down My situation goes 'round and 'round I heat up, I can't cool down My situation goes 'round and 'round I heat up, I can't cool down My situation goes 'round and 'round

Pal, yep things were sure simpler then and a great era of music back in the day. Loved that music and still do today.. Like this one was a great song.. Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress By The Hollies Saturday night I was down town Working for the F.B.I. Sitting in a nest of bad men Iskey bottles piling high Boot legging boozer on the west side Full of people who are doing wrong Just about to call up the D.A. man When I heard this woman singing a song. A pair of forty fives made me open my eyes My temperature started to rise She was a long cool woman in a black dress Just a five nine Beautiful Tall With just one look I was a bad mess Cause that long cool woman had it all. Saw her heading to the table Well a tall walking big black cat When Charlie said "I hope that you're able Boy" Well I'm telling you she knows where it's at Well suddenly we heard a siren And every body started to run A jumping out of doors and tables Well I heard somebody shooting a gun. Well the D.A. was pumping my left hand And a she a holding my right And I told her don't get scared Cause you're gonna be spared I gotta be forgiven If I want to spend my living with A long cool woman in a black dress Just a five nine Beautiful Tall With just one look I was a bad mess Cause that long cool woman had it all Had it all Had it all Had it all.
