Got a case of the blahs, uncreativity :(

It's been too long since I last posted. I kept writing posts, but then looked at them, didn't like the way they were written, they went all over and didn't have clear understandable thoughts ... Blah, I'll try last mondays post yet again, but on the computer, I lose track of my thoughts with this slow typing on my phone (not to mention the auto-incorrect that kicks in every third word, but I'm good at catching those)

This weekend I was busy, but, I didn't get much accomplished. went out sat to do about eight things that we have been putting off, we need to do them. Ended up babysitting for a friend early on, not a problem, we can still get our stuff done, and we enjoy watching the little one. Got two things done, and decided since we were on that side of town, to stop by the humane society and look at the dogs. Well, as Chris Rock says, if you're going to look for a dog (or anything), then you're getting a dog (anything). Well, we were looking at a dog, and brother ... We got a dog ... A nice medium sized dog, very friendly. So that kind of ended our trip out. Now for the fun part. Our house wasn't ready for another pet, much less a medium sized indoor dog. I tell you, she looked much smaller at the humane society. Our little boy was happy to have another around, they ran around together, all happy till she accidentally stepped on him (he's about one tenth her size) since then, he's felt threatened and keeps giving her hell. I kept having to keep him from getting eaten. She's taken it in stride, but I sure hope he starts accepting her. I keep thinking, dude, the cat beats your ass ... and you want to start shit with a that can EAT you??? SMH

Now with the cat, she's all like "WTF ... I can whoop that little barking pos when he annoys me, but you let that MONSTER in here??? Oh HELL NOOOO!!!" At least it seems like the new doesn't know about cats. I had to hold them and let them get used to one another. The first night, the new would just sit and watch the cat as she stayed under the bed. Now though, the cat will let the sniff her, but if her fur gets touched in any way, she's all back hunched, claws raised, hissing, and the is like, what's this funny furry thing trying to do?

Happy happy, didn't even get around to texting ...

Ah well, if I'm not surprised by stuff then I would rarely end up doing them, and it will be good for me.

Our new neighbors have four young kids. (Mama doesn’t look too damn bad for having had four kids in quick succession – but I digress! ) The other day we were chatting across the fence and the man asked if he could lift the kids over to pet our dog. I said sure, she wouldn’t attack them, though she might knock them over with her unbridled enthusiasm. So he lifted them over, and all was fine.

The VERY NEXT day, they had a new puppy! Not sure if that was the plan all along, or if the kids hounded them to death later.

Best wishes with your new pooch.

Ok.... so here's an idea of how to get your cat and dogs to relax a little and maybe even get along. I did this with mine and it worked beautifully. I had a dog already and brought a kitten home. I wanted them to get along and not tear up our apartment trying to kill each other. I tied a string onto the dog's hind leg with a toy at the end. The cat would chase it and that's how the dog and cat became very good friends. Try it!

I love pregnant / new mommy boobage ... It's extra boobtacular!! 4 in a row, I don't doubt that she's stacked!!!

It very well could have been either case. I'm very good at not giving in to kids. I butt heads for a while, then ask a strange question to distract them and make them forget, but many parents aren't as talented / patient. I hope they have a long and great time with their puppy!

I have my hard limits, and I denied the first two prospects. The one we got fit with what we could handle and what was desired, my only concern was fitting in with the current dog and cat ... and house broken ... Seems like she was previously house broken, so looks good on that front. lol, I made one of my sons cry when I denied #2 (a MUCH bigger boxer male that I would guarantee would eat our little dog ...) But I won't get into something that I know deep in my heart to be a bad situation.
I'm pretty good at stopping whimsical adopting, but I had no answer this time. ... It'll be ... fun

I will have to try that. This morning I found the cat and new dog sniffing each other. I think that cat will accept the dog, as the dog is much quieter than our little dog (the barking drives her crazy) though I'm expecting the new dog to have claw marks on her nose some day. I just am trying to figure out the little dog. I'm currentally holding both and rubbing both their heads to get them used to each other, and that we're not "replacing" one of them. I'll see about the toy trick. Right now the little one is being defensive about his bowls, toys, bed, floor, chairs, laps, etc ... All this from a dog that gets chased by the cat ...

I'd say your little dog is defending the one things he knew were his. My 2 fight over their food so I have to feed them in separate rooms.

Yeah, the new dog had a concern about food guarding. We think that was because she was starved as a stray. We've kept food bowls up, feed her outside with the cat and little dog eating inside. I'm working with getting her used to the cat's food not being for her ( the cat won't defend her food, just nag us with righteous indignation)

Last night all three sat around very friendly, the little dog had a couple of episodes, but I'm more optimistic now
