Stupid Deers!!!!!!

Last night, I had to call bib and tell him I had a flat on my car at work. He got the Explorer started and came to my workplace and put the wannabe tire on for me ( he's so sweet like that ). After getting the tire changed, he was going to follow me into town and then home to make sure i didn't have any problems with the little tire. I started the car, and it wouldn't move! We worked with it for a while and still couldn't get it to move, so we just left it parked there overnight, thinking we would return this morning and check it out in the daylight. He drove me to the store, then we started home.

We got about a quarter of the way home, when all of a sudden, a doe stepped out in front of the truck, with us doing 65 mph. BOOM!!!!!! Both air bags deployed (and i am shocked that they did with it being a 95 truck), and kept us from hitting the dash. When the airbags deployed, there was enough force behind them, that they blew the back hatch window open, without unlatching it (i am also shocked that it didn't shatter the glass on it). Not able to see or breathe, bib got us pulled over to the side of the road and out of harms way of oncoming traffic. After a quick body check of both of us, and a quick, small mental breakdown, i called bib's dad and mom for help.

While waiting for my father in law to arrive, bib and I walked back down the road to make sure there weren't any big pieces of our truck in the road causing a hazard to other drivers, and to see if the doe was still alive and suffering. We found her half in the roadway and half on the shoulder completely dead. Bib started kicking her to move her off to the side of the road and we both almost got sick. She looked, sounded, and felt like a sack of jello. I really don't think there was a bone in her body that wasn't broke. We looked, and to my amazement, there wasn't any blood on the ground at all from her. Usually, there is all kinds of blood splattered around when you hit one.

After Bib's dad got there and made sure we were not really hurt bad, he hooked a tow strap up to our front bumper, and pulled the bumper out of the front tire. Bib got the truck started again, and we drove it home.

We are both doing ok, just mostly stiff and sore. Bib's tummy still hurts and has a big red round spot where the airbag hit him, and we both have sore noses. Neither one of us got any rest lastnight. We were both restless and hurting. I called in sick to work, cause I was still stiff and hurting. Missed a day's pay that we really couldn't afford, but OH FUCKING WELL!!!

So, how was your day?? lol

A few years ago, I was driving a friend who was moving from Florida to D.C. on I-95. We were going through South Carolina and North Carolina during the night. I have never in my life seen so many deer...in South Carolina there must have been hundreds of them along the interstate chewing on grass. It was unsettling because I knew that one could bolt out in front of us at any time, and it was like that for mile after mile.
