Health Care Redux First: Anybody happy with this bill, has only read it's title. The aspect of these ....what....4000 pages...( anybody know the final count?) ....results in about 15% of the decrees dealing with Health Care, and / or reform. As tips go... that's pretty meager. So, 85% of the Trillion and counting, is going to do what most bills do, support hose some previous plan,that seems to be about to run out of money. And pay back so hefty supporters. ...Ever been a junkie? You can't budget for a habit.....cause each turn around the wheel, you need more, to get "well". This is where we are... Government has for almost ever, been juxtaposing it's inefficiency by "blaming" the past, or the other party. That's what will happen here. In the four years hence, as aspects are slowed, economically, implementable, BUREAUCRATICALLY... it will be claimed....it could have worked.....if not for..... And it seems to be working. There is a dialectic, whereby, we create an IDEAL, and also a devil... and we posit this so that people have a choice which to follow. Two schools of thought existed, one, whereby man was weak, and needed discipline, and another, whereby man was good, and needed to be allowed freedom. Today, we have the alchemist's bastard, where people of leisure have deemed themselves good, and deserving of freedom, whilst others are not, and so deserving of a benevolent dictatorship... for their own good. It doesn't hurt, that by directing "their own good", you manage to keep them out of your way.... From Edward Bernays, through Leo Strauss and now John Podesata, images of creation are manufactured, marketed, and mind set, so that you can feel what might have been mythology, or religion...in another era. It is IDEALISM...and it does not exist without equal weight on a teeter totter.... And.... it is NOT an original thought of YOURS! ...an enemy of my enemy is my friend. Ahhhhh!!!! But WHO decide whom was to be THAT? YOU? I doubt it.... ....We have met the enemy, and it is US. I challenge all of you faithful, to pay attention to this bill. As it implements itself, will you be willing, to take a small action, if the train leans to far, and threatens to go off track? Will you lend your back to the well spring of Hope professed in its title? Or... will you, because you are comfortable, and not necessarily complicit, shrug, and watch baseball? I promise you, that any Government plan needs citizen oversight, but especially one of this magnitude. Will you be there? I doubt this too. For, all of the "voices" of the "last eight years" have grown dumb.... until recently, the seven year anniversary of Iraq. But there IS no anti Afghanistan war protest....not HERE...and why...... ...because you are not as they say "skin in the game"... this is spectator sport for you...as it is for the media... "What will this do to the _______________________ party....What will this do the _________________________ party. Who cares!!!!!!!!!! What will this do to PEOPLE? Not just you. This is a beginning. Nobody won anything. We all just assumed a huge liability, and responsibility. See ya there...... Oh yeah....do you know who pumped up the Brown Brothers.... Texans....then of Brown and Root.... more recently Kellogg Brown and Root...subservient of Halliburton? You should look it up..... L.B.J. This GAME is the only bi partisan thing happening. If you don't get that, than be happy with the "tip" 15%..... of your own freaking money....by the way They call it "Cracker Jax" cause mostly...that's what's in it... It is not the same with the Bills in D.C. Now that it's yours....read the bill....  |

I'm amazed that Congress actually accomplished something. Whether it's regrettable or not remains to be seen. blog on!

I was reading bits and pieces of the bill, amendments and changes. Up until the debate on Sunday. The plan itself could have been simple. But you then add in kick backs, graft and special interest. The cost goes up, with more hands to bribe. Then the people that should have and the should not have. And it is still a half way plan.

I agree! It is hard to find anyone really....opposed to some sort of solution...but unfortunately, it has been trivialized... a "disaster' to be taken advantage of... and of course all the "usual suspects" still get fat... (ummm isn't fat....'unhealthy' now?) I want solutions. but I do not want the "ends to justify the means" I believe in the constitution. I believe that it is our definition. If we rid ourselves of definition...(substitute "sobriety"... ) then... any great recreational drug we take... can be "reality"... and it isn't. The gravity of reality is what makes the damn drugs work in the first place.... Yin Yang.. tin...and tang... Keith...I am surprised to see you... you are from my earliest days... * There should be no income tax, national sales tax, or any other such scheme on the federal level. The US income tax implies that government owns you and graciously allows you to keep whatever percentage of the fruits of your labor it chooses. This is incompatible with the principles of a free society. ....... What folks don't grasp about this concept, is NOT that there will not be taxes.... it is that they will not be FEDERAL. Because, along with the Federal taxes come Federal mandates. We arre abondoning the strengths and rights of the States, to become one huge big box country, and it just doesn't work. This country was clled "The Great Experiment". Liberty was to be planted here and cultivated. And each State was a separate laboratory with problems and solutions of its own. Any, and many could be copied, once the data ws studied about th successfulness of a particular solution. As someone told me recently.... Too Big To Fail... is two words too many
