The Balloon Boy Hoax...

Isn't it amazing how a family can put it all out there in the name of publicity to get on or create a reality show?

I know I felt several different emotions watching that balloon zip across the sky to eventually land in an empty field. I kept thinking this isn't right to be watching someone else's tragedy unfold...I felt the urgent need for someone to do something, but what?

Then when the balloon finally came down to the ground...I watched like so many others as folks approached the balloon...emergency personnel on hand and ready to scoop up the little boy...yes, I was horrified that the boy might be severely hurt or yes, even dead...like everyone else, I couldn't tear myself away, I wanted to see what had happened to that little boy...why weren't they moving faster?

And then, no boy!!! Now, the truth of it all comes out and it was all a hoax!!!! This family played on my emotions...did they get what they wanted out of the hoax?

Watching the family's attorney on some of the news programs really irks me...one interview the attorney was laughing...laughing at me, laughing at you because we fell for it. Why should these people be charged with a crime? Who should pay for the personnel that was called in to try and "save" the boy in the balloon? I'm sure we, as tax payers are going to foot the bill. These folks have no intention of paying for the costs of the rescue efforts...why should they?

I know there are people that obsess about being on one of the reality game shows. There was a local man that went to a reality show coaching school in New York to train on how to make himself more noticed to get picked for one of the game shows. Yes, a school to train you how to present yourself to get picked for a reality game show!!! But why pay all that money when you can stage a hoax like the Balloon family and get all that publicity supposedly free?

Yes, the media has brought the sensationalism of tragedy front and center...we can see it all unfold right before our eyes...but does that make it right for a family to play and capitalize on that sensationalism?

Did you watch the Balloon Boy hoax?

I kinda watched it, but I never let myself get really involved with anything I see on the media. So much of it you see and hear now is just sensationalism. I am glad the kidlet is ok, and though I seriously doubt any real punishment will come to his parents, it would be nice to see a precedent set that will quash some of the stupidity that is 'reality television'. Reality for me is the world I live and work in. It's more than bizarre enough to entertain me endlessly.

I guess that I will be the guy that everyone "jumps on" Why not?

If you go out and watch the natural "wildlife" you will eventually find ou t that we as humans are NOT the smartest animal in the world .......... just the one that "thinks" they are the smartest!!!!!!!!

Wildlife will "find a way" to eliminate those that do not "fit" into their society .......... humans will protect those that do not fit more than those that do fit!

You .......... YOUNG LADY fit better than 98% of all others that I have seen ... You are honest and real and fit within the limits that are natural ...... most others "fit" within the guidelines that other people have set!

It is kind of neat to be "unique" in a crazy world!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that you fit the definition of "unique"
