Double standard

For sometime I have wondered why there is a double standard when it comes to sex. Why is that a man is cheered on because of the number of women that they sleep with. For a woman, she is considered a slut if she sleeps around. She doesn't just get that from men but from women also. I have a few ideas. I wonder if you agree. I think that part of the difference is pregnancy. Since men can not get pregnant, it is not as important about who he sleeps with. For a woman that is different. Woman can get pregnant. Their choice of a partner can lead to another life. If you have any other ideas, please add to the discussion.

 That's one good explanation. After all, some animals eat the young spawned by other males. Another reason might be that men are possessive creatures and want to perpetuate the idea that; If women sleep with anyone else, they are promiscuous "sluts". Not totally unreasonable, though. Most of the women I have known are just in the game for what they can get out of it anyway. What does that make them??? ....... BT
